In Memory of a Dead Leader is a moving-image work exploring how political memory is performed, inherited and contested following the death of a community’s leader. Developed through a practice of sustained observation, the work will examine how political figures become myth and how the legacies of state power continue to inhabit landscapes and everyday life. The project considers remembrance as an ongoing social practice, taking shape through ritual, landscape and lived experience.
